I think that the costs for college are rediculous. It really isn't fair for kids that can't get a better education because they can't afford college.

Going to college after I graduate is very important to me. If I don't go to college, then I won't be able to get a good job.

Another option instead of going to college is you work a couple smaller jobs that don't require an education.

I am willing to go through with debt if it means I can go to college.

I think the soaring costs for college is going to make it harder and harder for all kids to go to college especially the ones who families were struggling to get the money to send them in the first place. I won't really have to think about college too much for the next few years but I still want to go, somewhere out in southern California. If I could choose now, Santa Barbara City College is where I want to go for my first two years. But I have three more years to worry about that. I know I probably won't have enough money to go to a really good school but SBCC and a few other schools in that area, you don't have to pay for admission only for your dorms which is most likely what i will end up doing.

I think the cost colleges now a days are very expensive. The prices are more higher than what they were back in the day. College is the most important part of ever young adult's life. Not everyone goes to college but attending makes your background better for obtaining a better career in life instead of working at a restaurant. College is my main focus and nothing else because finishing school shows you have a high education besides graduating high school and having patience to take on that task for four more years. Most colleges except money in order to attend. I think some college aren't worth going to paying tons of money but it depends on what you want to do in life. Some people make sacrifices in order to become what they dream to be.

I think the cost of college is a just outrageous. So many people want to go to college but just can't afford it. Student that are in high school now have to work so much more than they should be just to save enough money for college. When they work too much they don't have enough time to study, do homework and just have time for themselves. It is really important for me to go to college because I want to get into a good job when I'm older. I don't want to have to work as a waitress or something similar where I would have to work very long hours and still not make a good amount of money. There really isn't any option but college unless you a have an amazing talent for singing or acting and you could become a singer or actor who make 2 million dollars in one film. I really don't want to have to go into debt for college but if I have to I will, after all when I'm a lawyer or dentist I'll be able to pay back.

The soaring cost of college has overwhelmed a lot of families who want to send their children to college for a proper education. I was amazed to find out that college tuition and fees have increased by 439 percent from 1982 to 2007. It makes sense that student borrowing has more than doubled in the last century.

I think it's very important not just for me but for everybody to go to college, because nowadays it seems like it's the only possible way to succeed in life, especially with our economy being as poor as it is.

The other options besides college would be either to join the army or find a job that pays well without having a bachelor's or master's degree.

I don't know if I'd be willing to obtain debt in order to go college because I don't want to worry about paying my debt. It would be too stressful.

I think that the soaring cost of colleges is really a trade off; in poor economic times, everyone has to do what they can to be financially stable. For colleges, that means raising their tuition, so as for themselves to stay financially stable. Though that hurts the majority of people, it does mean that the college will stay open.
For me, college is very important. Though I don't have a set future for myself, all possible futures for me involve college.
There are still plenty of jobs that don't require a college degree; I think that if college doesn't work out, or you want to pursue one of those careers, then you don't have to really worry about college.
I am willing to obtain debt in order to go to college. I know that though the tuition could really be any amount by the time I go to college, I think that as long as I have a good, stable job, I would eventually pay off my debt. There are also outside sources (parents, scholarships, etc.) that I would greatly benefit from financially.

Not only is it already hard to get into college BUT now its going to be even more expensive.

I guess the real decision here is, Either you go to college, get a good education and be in debt for probably the rest of you life OR just not go to school at all. Either way both of you options suck. I really do want to go to college but the way the economy is looking right now I would have to be a billionaire to be able to pay for college alone. Not including other cost that i would be dealing it with like, gas, food, and clothes.

I believe that the costs for college are becoming very ridiculous, though the college is allowed to charge that because through loans and other things people will find the way to pay. And why would they lower their price if they knew people would eventually pay it?

Going to college is something that i have to do because when i get older i want to be a veterinarian, and to do that you need a college degree. So its definitely a necessity that I go to college.

Another option instead of college is working. I know a few people who took a year off, got a job and some extra money for college and the next year they went. But they had extra money that they wouldn't have the year before.

Yes, I am willing to go into debt if it means I can go to college.

I think the cost of college's today are crazy. I also think it is not right for the college's to be that much. If someone really wanted to go to college and had not enough money to go then what happens? I just done think its that fair.

I think going to college is important but not to important. It's always good to go because that way you could get a good job. If you don't go to college you could still get a job but not such a good one.

Some other options other then college are you could find a job but not a great one.

I hope I to go to college but debt is just to much.

i think the cost of college is ridiculous. The prices are impossible to imagine paying. where do you get that kind of money? i will defiantly use loans for college, because going to a good college is very important to me. However, I'm not happy about how much i'll have to borrow, and then having the debt for years afterward. The article argues that there are cheaper colleges, which is true, but its unfair for price to have to hold people back who could go to a better college.
Doing jobs that don't require a college education is an option for people who don't go to college, but I am determined to go and therefore get a job where i can get enough money to live comfortably.

I think the cost of colleges are unbelievably high. Kids from lower-income families aren't going to be able to attend colleges anymore.

I want to go to college because it makes it easier for you to be hired. Many jobs require a college degree especially the high-paying ones.

For me, there really aren't any other options besides college. Joining the military or getting a low-paying job that requires no college degree would be some other options.

I would be willing to obtain debt from college because college is necessary in the world today. The debt would put a lot of stress on me and I would have to worry about paying it back.

The soaring costs for college is very bad - its ridiculous how the numbers have increase for the amount of money for tuition, and how people have to take out loans, and create huge debts, in order to pay for college. It makes it hard for kids to get a better education, just because they can't afford it.

college for me is important because whatever my career path will be for when I finish high school, I would want to be well educated, and be able to carry myself through life today with the specific knowledge we will acquire in our 4 years at college.

Beside college, you can take a few small jobs, that do not require an education - or you can take a few classes that are offered in the community, or something.

Though carrying debts are a hassle, and no one wants to deal with them, if it means getting more education - at college - then I think I would be willing for debt

i think college prices these day's are too much and i have a not even a few month's left in high school and i'm planning on going to boston hill community college for 2 years and then i have like 2 or more years of college left and i don't really think if i could afford those years i would have to get a good paying job or at least 2 jobs just to pay for the college's i might be going to.i just think that if the price's are really too much to pay for.

Yes, also when compared to other countries, like for example Nepal, United States has a ridiculously high college costs. As there is no good option besides college, people tend to work at minimum wage, not thinking of their future when the grow up. This has can be very bad for the United States as whole. I found this quote,
“we’re really going to be in jeopardy, because the educational gap between our work force and the rest of the world will make it very hard to be competitive. Already, we’re one of the few countries where 25- to 34-year-olds are less educated than older workers.” by Mr. Callan.
This high cost for higher education could be foreshadowing the down fall of America for nation as a whole.
For me college is very important. I have left my country to study and have a better lifestyle so I am definitely willing to go through with debt if it means I can go to college.

I can't understand how a higher education has presented itself as a possibility to so few people in the U.S. Education should be the primary concern for us as a nation, because without intelligent young people, generations after will still be feeling the effect. It is important that we secure a place among the most intelligent of nations in the world, and we start realizing the potential that we have. We need to motivate kids to learn, and motivate the government to do so. The problem is that many kids who would love to go to college are being turned down due to lack of sufficient funds and financial aid. I think college is an option. I have a fascination with psychology, and would love to pursue that interest at college. The study of philosophy interests me as well, and I think college could provide me with that knowledge. Debt stinks, and I don't want to worry about paying of debts, but In order to go to college I know I might have to. A military education has always been an option for me.

I think that the costs rising for colleges is going to really change the future, because I feel that not many people will be educated because of it.

It's really important for me to go to college to get a good job after I finish with school.

Other options besides college are joining the armed forces, and or work at different jobs that wont require a good educated person.

I'm willing to go into debt if it means getting a good education that can help me out in my future.
