Winning Time Reggie Miller vs New York Knicks
My favorite documentary of all time is Winning Time Reggie Miller vs New York Knicks. This documentary is directed by Dan Klores and was part of the ESPN 30 for 30 documentary series shown over the past year. It is about how in the mid 1990's the Indiana Pacers lead by Reggie Miller would yearly play the New York Knicks in the NBA playoffs. The documentary tells the story of how Reggie Miller would torch the Knicks nightly and tells the story of all the intense battles the two super powered teams played in 1993, 1994, and in 1995. Some games they focus on more than others in game 3 of the 1993 playoffs how Reggie Miller trash talked Knicks point guard John Starks so much that he head butted Reggie on the court and got kicked out of the game. Then again in 1994 how in how Reggie Miller and devoted Knicks fan Spike Lee got into a verbal fight and that seemed to fire up the ice cold Reggie Miller that night as he scored 25 points in the forth quarter to lead the Pacers to a win crushing the spirits of all in Madison Square Garden that night. The other game they focus a lot on is game one of the 1995 playoffs and how the Knicks were up by six points with 9.8 seconds remaining but Reggie Miller scored 8 points to lead the Pacers to a thrilling win.
