well, it says that Chile is one of Latin America's most sexually conserved countries - maybe that causes the teenagers to feel rebellious and prove that statement wrong.
They use mass communications to post and trade pictures on websites, and also plan parties and set dates. People also use MSN messenger to get information out to others, as to spread its news.
This explosion is something that is rare in the world - meaning that it doesn't happen everywhere, like America for example. Most of the teenagers aren't even in a serious relationship, they just make out with tons of people.

The Mass. Communications in Chile are greatly affecting the kids there and are influencing them to do very dirty things... Chile's kids are influenced mainly by the internet but also by the television. The internet is the main source because kids post sexual pictures and videos online to make themselves look good. But on television there are many shows where you can just watch celebrities go to bars and get drunk and dance.

This 'explosion' is not good. Because the kids are now exploring sex and many are becoming pregnant. But when they have a baby if they do, who is going to pay for it? Sadly the mother and father. One good thing is the fact that no alcohol is allowed in the bars.

Bottom line you're keeping the Chilean kids from becoming alcoholics, and they are becoming sex addicts.

Mass Communications is affecting the teenagers in Chile by exposing them to things they don't know about. They don't receive good sex ed in their schools, but on the internet they are seeing and hearing all sorts of things, and getting invited to parties where they are happening. They are using the internet mostly, especially a site Fotolog that originated in the U.S.
I think this "explosion" is not unlike things happening in the U.S, though clearly more intense. Parents and other adults being less strict gives teenagers more opportunities to take part in things they shouldn't be. The allure of the parties s also heightened because they are new and exciting, having just began recently.

In Chile, teenagers are learning about sex over the internet. They are also distributing photos and videos of inappropriate situations over the internet for many to see. Teenagers are using mass communications to share their experiences with the internet world.

They are using Fotolog, which is a photo-sharing network, to post their pictures of the parties. Also, they use their cell phones to capture images and the internet to post their shots.

I think that this explosion is crazy. The parties seem really dirty and the age group seems a little too young to be experiencing this type of party. I also think that the music making references to make out is way out of line. Kids as young as 13 and 14 should not be having sex. I do appreciate the fact that there is no smoking or alcohol though and i recognize that things like this happen in the US too, its just not as publicized.

Mass Media and and communication is affecting teens in Chile by digital technology. For example cellphones, television and Internet broadband accounts. They are video tapping things they do and other people are seeing them. A mass media tool sites they are using is the photo sharing network that was created in the United States. What I think of this "explosion" is that this is crazy because teenagers are just doing things with random people they just met. I also think that it is a good thing they are not drinking or smoking.

First of all, I felt that this is something I could never think being happening in Chile. I never thought, that it is going around with teenagers. This is really 'depressing' in other words!

Internet is playing a major role in these types of sexual conducts. They are using foto-log.The western culture is being introduced in their own culture, which has made a greater diversion in the upcoming generation.
I personally think that this is a "explosion" is a down-fall of the world itself. I wonder what will happen to the next generation of Chile? (In fact the whole world)

This is interesting because the same thing happened in the U.S. in the 1960's and 1970's. A sexual revolution in our own country... I don't think it is wrong, but the government needs to take some serious measures in educating the youth about sex. What startles me isn't the fact that they are sexually hyperactive, but that everyone knows this and the sexual education program continues to be a sub-par program. They use mass communications to post and trade explicit pictures on websites, and MSN messenger to get in contact with the people that they "like." I don't think that this is wrong or taboo, I just think it is a product of years of pent up sexual frustration.
