The history of Valentines day began with the Romans practicing a Pagan celebration, where young men would draw teenage girls names from a box, and whoever they drew would be their companion for the rest of the year. Since the church didn't like this, the Pope changed it to names of Saints in the box, and Bishop Valentine to be celebrated. Bishop Valentine was arrested for performing secret marriages, and was executed on February 14. Valentine wrote a note to his lover and signed it "From Your Valentine". This is how Valentine's Day was started. I have never had a good Valentine's Day, besides when I would get candy in elementary school. I don't like Valentine's Day.

Valentines Day is a holiday that celebrates love observed by exchanging candy & gifts.

The best memory of Valentines for me was celebrating it with my whole family at once.

The worst memory was doing nothing on V-Day.

Every year, the fourteenth day of the month of February has millions across the world presenting their loved ones with candy, flowers, chocolates and other lovely gifts. In many countries, restaurants and eateries are seen to be filled with couples who are eager to celebrate their relationship and the joy of their togetherness through delicious cuisines. There hardly seems to be a young man or woman who is not keen to make the most of the day.

Valentines Day was named after a priest named St. Valentine. It was believed that he sent the first valentine himself. While in prison it is believed he fell in love with a young girl who visited him during his confinement and sent her a letter which he signed "From your Valentine".

Valentines day has been around for a long time, since around the year 270 AD, which is when a saint named Valentine died or was buried, or that is what's believed at least. I guess my worst valentine's day experience was in kindergarden when I first learned about Valentines day, this was because I hated the holiday, and I haven't really had a good or best experience of Valentines day since then.

The history Valentine's Day is that the Romans would practice paganism and during this practice young men would pull out names of teenage girls for them to be with each other forever. My best memory for Valentine's Day is that I got a girlfriend of mine a red, pink, and white rose. My worst memory is that some random person through 10 bags of heart candy very hard at my face.

Valentines day is named after one of the early Christian martyrs, Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It was later removed from the roman calendar in 1969. Honestly I have never had a positive or negative memory regarding Valentines day.

Valentine's Day, is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions. The day is named after one or more early Christian martyrs, Saint Valentine, and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It was deleted from the Roman calendar of saints in 1969 by Pope Paul VI, but its religious observance is still permitted. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines"). The day first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

In the third century in Rome Valentines day was a holiday when two couples exchange gifts with each other. Valentines day is a day where all couples show their love and have a special day to spent together and show their love. My good memories of Valentines day was when we exchanged candy during pre school and elementary school.
