Orson Wells was a writer, actor, and a producer for radio, television and film. He truly was everywhere in media. His most famous piece of work is the movie Citizen Kane. He is very famous for voice over work on the radio. An interesting note about him was that he never rehearsed his lines before going on the radio. Many times he wouldn't even look at the script. Most of his voice over work was on the spot, which he claimed made it more interesting.-Keith

Orson Welles was the host of Mercury Theater -- a radio show that always broadcast fictional news and stories -- during the 1930s. He Is best known for his broadcast of War of the Worlds in 1938 that fooled nearly an entire nation. The broadcast was mistaken for an ACTUAL news story by many, and caused mass panic due to a fear of being killed by alien invaders. The publics' strong reaction earned Welles a place in history.

Orson Welles was born in May 6, 1915. He was a director, writer, actor and producer for stage film, radio and television. Welles was also an accomplished magician. In 1941, he co-wrote, directed and produced in Citizen Kane, often chosen in polls of film critics as the greatest film ever made. The rest of his career was often obstructed by lack of funds, incompetent studio interference and other unfortunate occurrences. I think, the most important thing is that he is still acknowledged as one of the most important dramatic artist of the 20th century. In 2002 he was voted as the greatest film director of all time in the British Film Institutes's poll of Top Ten Directors. He had many obstacles and interferences in his life, but still he was capable of doing what he wanted. Unfortunately, he died in October 10, 1985, but still he had a significant roll in the history of mass communications...
