Yesterday, we as a class went to see a presentation by the non-profit organization Invisible Children. The presentation's main feature was a short film documenting the organization's progress in attempting to stop the abduction and murder of children in Uganda by Joseph Kony, a rebel/cult leader who has been abducting children to fight for him.
The film was a documentary due to it's documentation of reality. I liked the film for it's content, which was informative, dramatic, and thought provoking. However, I thought that the film was sometimes overly dramatic, especially with it's use of music. My other problem was that the hosts were basically hipsters, which slightly effects their credibility, but I can't get mad at the film for their host's/creator's image. In the end, the film definitely did what it was meant to do in a very effective manner.
