I felt that it was very good what they are doing for the kids. It seems that the kids are really liking what they are doing. One of the kids his name is Ron when he is at his house they talk about the girls and who they like or who they want to dance with. Most all of the parents like what they are doing at the school they feel like it will help the kids when they get married. Most of the girls like it but they do not like wen the boys do not know what they are doing or if they have to lead the girl in the dance. What they are doing is try to show the kids how to dance and that you dont have to deal dope or drugs and it shows all of the kids talking about it after school. One of the girls was saying how if the parents of the kids the sell drugs did not let there kids know the trouble it would be a lot deffreat. john kelly :()
In my opinion I find this documentary interesting. It’s interesting because I never knew that there were schools, especially middle schools that have dance classes, and also have competitions against other schools. Some documentary techniques was following kids around and videotaping their true feeling about the whole dance classes and competitions. They also videotaped their parents and teachers and asked them about their lives and opinions about the dance classes. I kind of relate to some of the characters because my family thinks dancing is very important in my culture. My mom tried to put me in a dance class but I didn't like them so I stopped going to them.
In my opinion this was a good documentary because this documentary shows that kids at an early age are being introduce to new things and they seem to like it. This documentary also provide kids in new york with other kind of things to do beside selling drugs and smoking weed. Some of the technique use in this documentary is they interview some of the people they also film all of the kids dancing and competing. I sorta relate to the kids because when I was being introduce to something I like to do I go out and try my best at it and make sure to have fun at the same time like they do.
I think it was an interesting subject. it's always funny to see little children do grown up stuff, ballroom dancing included. As for "documentary techniques", the film used a lot of interviews, mainly of parents and teachers, mixed with classroom scenes and conversations between kids. 3. I think I relate to some of the characters. I think that if I were in the situation of those children, I would react the same way, but if we were to start ballroom dancing at school, I know everybody else would feel it was stupid, and as a result I would probably feel the same way. If I wasn't around high school students I doubt I would think it was stupid.
I thought that it is a very good idea for these schools to get these kids dancing and particapating in school activities. It seemed to me that the kids enjoyed what they were doing in the class. Overall everyone seems to like what there doing including the parents and teachers. And Lastly i really have never been into dancing and I dont think i reallt relate to any of these kids.
