Joss Whedon

-Joss Whedon is a film and television writer, producer and director.
-Almost everyone in his family is a writer of some sort, his mother is a novelist, his father a screenwriter, and his two brothers are also writers.
-Needless to say, he started off as a writer for TV and movies.
-His notable TV shows are the cult classics, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly. He has also directed a few episodes of The Office, and the "Dream On" episode of Glee.
-The film Serenity, a continuation of the canceled (best show ever) Firefly, was very awesome and amazing, it received good reviews and the fans (including me) went wild. Yay. Sadly, he has few other films worth mentioning, though he did help write the screen play for Toy Story.
-Another of his successful works is Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, a short film type thing made during the writer's strike. It instantly became a cult classic.
-It was confirmed this year that he will direct The Avengers. (from Marvel Comics)
-His stuff is mostly science fiction and fantasy, but not always.
