A teacher dies "randomly?!?!"

An article in the NY Times says that a teacher in Tyler, Texas was stabbed by a 16-year old student, and later died. Todd Henry, who worked with students with disabilities in Texas, was 52 years old.

While it is certainly sad that a teacher is dying, I am very surprised to find that the act was described as "a random act by an individual student." Seriously? Murder is not random! A teenager wouldn't just stab a teacher without reason, it just doesn't make sense. There has to be a reason for this, and the sooner it is acknowledged, the sooner this kid can be reprimanded for his horrible actions.
