NO mobile devices

Based on what I have read in your responses, it seems like your mobile devices seem to be the most distracting in your education experience. Do you think cell phones/mobile devices should be banned in class as a result of the distraction levels?
Why or why not?

I don't think that cell phones/mobile device should be completely banned in school just limited. Because in today's world if school's start to ban electronics from kids their not going to take the rule seriously and just ignore it completely. However if the school puts a limit to it kids would still have their electronics but their limited to what they can do with it and that will keep in line and not completely addicted to it.

I do not think that cell phones should be banned from schools because some people do infact need them for some reasons and i think that they do more overall good than they do bad. Sure they are distractions but lots of other things that are not banned from schools that are equally or even more distracting. Schools let you bring things into school that are equally distracting yet cell phones are not a big problem and i have to adress it here.

I think that mobile devices should not be banned from classes because sometimes you need your cell phone for emergency purposes. One major reason why I think schools should not ban cell phones is if there is a family emergency and you have to leave right away. If schools ban phones in classes then it might just take longer to know there is a family emergency or maybe you won't even know at all until your out of school. Another reason why I think they should not ban cell phones in class is that sometimes you don't know what is happening after school. So you can use your phone to call or text your parents and ask them. These reasons are why I think schools shouldn't ban schools

From banning cell phones I feel that our educational system will become stronger. Mostly because when you are in class you should be focusing on school work to better your education, but for some students that does not seem to be the case. So my banning them from schools would give the teens the idea that when at school there mind should be on their work, rather then whats going on within the social network.

I don't really care if Cell phones are or aren't allowed in class, because I don't get distracted by them. And I don't worry about others, because it's there life, it's none of my business. I don't have any opinion on this at all. Yeah Cell phones do distract kids but it doesn't means that they can't concentrate on their studies. And you can't force them not to use it. I think I'll go with the majority of people's answer.

No, I don't think cell phones should be banned in school because students are still going to used them, and it's going to become a bigger deal then it should be. Also cell phone are expansive and if we're not allowed to used them for most of the year and more than have of the day then what's the purpose of even buying a cell phone. I think the schools should allows us to use them in study and lunch.

I think that if we were able to use are cell phones in class it would help some people. If it did not help you could say after you finish all of you work you can use your phone or your ipod. but as long as you are dun with all of your work then i think more people would work harder so they could do what they want.

I think cell phones are already technically banned in classrooms. At least in our school. I don't think this is affective because I see that it doesn't work. It is distracting but cell phones have become so much a part of our daily lives that getting rid of them could cause issues. Cell phones should be limited not banned. Kids need to call their parents and remain in contact with them. Personally if I'm feeling sick I text my Mom to dismiss me. I don't go to the nurse or tHe main office where they sometimes make you go through hoops to leave. Cell phones make life easier and while they are distracting, especially in classrooms, banning them would be ineffective.

I think that completely banning cell phones and mobile devices is a huge mistake, because teenagers are going to use them anyways. Making them against the rules makes teenagers want to use them more, because, lets face it, we hate to follow rules. Devices like cell phones are distracting, but it should be up to the student whether they want to engage in that distraction. The only time they should be banned is during things like test and quizzes, where phones and other devices make it easier to cheat and get answers.

I think that in class, cell phones should be banned due to their distracting nature. However, students will not stop using cell phones in school. They will find ways to get around the rules. This is true for almost all banned things, such as alcohol and drugs. Keeping this in mind, we should not ban cell phones during lunch or before or after class. That seems rather pointless.
